Our Brain's Deep Desire to Connect - Limbic Resonance

Frankie the Brave Fireman

Rob at 33 Years Old
Major corporations know neuroscience extremely well. What we're teaching you on this page is worth $100 Billion. The limbic system supports critical functions including epinephrine flow, emotion, behavior, motivation, long-term memory, and smell. Emotional life is largely housed in the limbic system, and it has a great deal to do with the formation of memories.
At the age of 43, walking through our living room, the house smoke detector was beeping and I got a ladder to change the battery. While the kids watched me cross through the room with the ladder I muttered a jingle, 'Fireman, fireman in the nick, putting out the fire quick!' The kids looked at me oddly and said, 'What was that?'. I

stopped in my tracks and thought for a moment as I was a bit startled myself. After a few moments I remembered it was from one of my favorite books when I was a kid called, 'Frankie the Fireman'. I put down the ladder and went straight to YouTube and there it was.
For your sake, I don't mind sharing what seems shameful, but as I gently sat down at the computer and played this audio book, it was as though my body and mind became 3 years old again within seconds. Full of anxiety, wonder and imagination, with my heart racing and barely breathing, I hung on with every turn of the page. Even while creating this for you, the story still effects me. (my cortisol) You see, in my childhood bedroom I must have listened to this read-a-long book over a hundred times. This book had a profound impact on my brain. You can see how this book goes along with the Confrontation Point Story when I saved the day chubby and 13 years old. Francie could tell you for sure that this story of Frankie, surely influenced our  marriage. We even named our first dog Frankie and it was 20 years later. This is because at 3 years old, our brains are developing at a rate of 400% vs an adult brain.
Television had a lifelong impact on our brains as well. And we didn't know it.

Some Influential Commercials of the 1970's

The 'Rich Secret' in Folgers is High Acid that boosts your cortisol
If you are scared at home, sugar and corn are acidic and boost your readiness to fight or run away. Cortisol
The Punch in Hawaiian Punch is not from fruit juice at all. The punch is from acid and sugar causing cortisol to rage in your body.
Coke doesn't make you happy. It makes you fat, foggy and irritable. It's so acidic that it is used in dozens of school science experiments.
Cereal does not make your kids cute. It makes them anxious, hyper, lethargic, hungry and irritable.
This might be true if you stopped after a half cup. Especially GMO grain is a raging cortisol producer.
A loaded processed, bacon cheeseburger on white bread creates extremely high toxic shock.
A bunch of people drinking alcohol does NOT bring joy at Christmas. It's high in acid and too much brings drunkenness, irritability and loss of memory etc.
Many people laugh at bologna and hot dogs being bad but people still buy it. Powerful marketing that is generational. Cortisol
You should know by now what it is that kept us coming back for their burgers. Cortisol. Corporate neuroscience at it's best. Combine a child's imagination with cortisol and everyone will come back.
Look at how healthy the people are at Taco Bell. So much joy and fun. After 40 years of secrecy, Taco Bell was forced to disclose the other 12% of their beef ingredients. (Lactic Acid, Maltodextrin, Torula Yeast, Modified Corn Starch, Soy Lecithin, Sodium Phosphates, Caramel Color, Cocoa Powder, Trehalose) At least there was chocolate.
We all know that video games have not brought family fun to our homes. It is a $100B epidemic. If you have electronics addiction in your home change your  nutrition first and then cutting out any other addiction is SO MUCH EASIER. Kids are stimulating dopamine and RELEASING CORTISOL while playing Video Games. All of a sudden, taking it away will leave anger and frustration. REDUCE DIETARY ARTIFICIAL SOURCES OF CORTISOL FIRST!!!

Parents

Are there things you do with your kids "to make them happy" such as take them places, give them things that were supposed to make you happy? It is also supposed to make them happy? And maybe it doesn't... We all do it. So wake up! We often bring our kids similar joys and harms that we experienced. Don't feel guilty. We live in a fallen world. Just breathe and begin to make new choices, as little or as radical as you're up to. I've seen men throw their TV out their bedroom window. Just be careful if you do that and don't break anything else or hurt anyone. Join me in my fight for that little boy with the red hat on, God did make him for amazing things and one of them was not to sit in front of the TV or a screen.
  • Implement Electronic Free Zones (Get electronics out of bedrooms. Bedrooms are supposed to be the safest place in your home. This must start with Dad and Mom)
  • Get rid of cable and just do movies (Use Wisdom on picking movies...)
  • There are TV shows and events that are fun for the family but I can't think many
  • We have seen and heard of many lives radically changed and we've never heard a story where it came through watching TV, it was always through interaction with other people
  • Again, if you have addictive problems in any areas like this, change your nutrition first and anything is possible. See Healing Health
